iPhone or iPad?
First install SelfHostedFriends as an app, then enable push notifications.
SelfHostedFriends on iPhone or iPad
1. Install SelfHostedFriends as an app
- Open selfhostedchat.com in Safari.
- Tap the Share button .
- Choose Add to Home Screen.
- Keep Open as Web App enabled.
- Tap Add.
You are not using Safari right now. Open selfhostedchat.com in Safari first to add the app.
2. Enable push notifications
- Open SelfHostedFriends using the new icon on your Home Screen.
- Tap Push off above the chat.
- Choose Allow when iOS asks.
- In Profile, choose whether you want all messages or only mentions and replies.
The push button works on iPhone and iPad only after SelfHostedFriends has been added to the Home Screen as a web app.
